FEBRUARY MONTHLY UPDATE

CONGRATS

We want to congratulate both the Winter Guard and Winter Percussion groups on the start of their competition season. The Guard has 3 shows behind them and the Percussion group just had their 1st.

On their competition on the 11th

  • The Mini & Varsity Guard came in first.
  • Percussion came in 2nd.

WINTER GROUPS FUNDRAISING – KRISPY KREME

We will be handing out the Krispy Kreme packets for Winter Guard and Percussion on Monday/Tuesday respectively. Please ask your student for it so that you can read through all the information. Here are some specifics:

  • Sales will run from 2/14 – 2/28
  • You can make additional copies of the order form if needed
  • All order forms & money (cash or checks made out to MBPA) MUST be turned in on the 28th. If you are unable to have it on the 28th please send an email to secretary@mansfieldbandparents.org to make other arrangements. Orders will NOT be accepted after the 28th unless we here from you.
  • MBPA cannot accept venmo payments for orders. You are welcome to have venmo payments sent to you, but all orders on your form must match amount turned in.

REHEARSE-A-THON

  • Rehearse-A-Thon will be held on Saturday 2/18 at the high school. If you are interested in helping out, please CLICK HERE. Thank you to everyone that has already signed up.
  • For those who don’t know what rehearse-a-thon is – it is an all day (9:00am – 9:00pm) rehearsal where the group works to refine what they’ve already learned as well as learn new movements. It’s our job to keep them fed and hydrated. The day will end with a look at all their hard work. Information on what time parents should arrive will be sent out from Mr. DeJoy this week.

HOME SHOW CASE – March 12th

  • Unfortunately we are unable to host a winter home show this year. So instead we will be showcasing the Color Guard Minis, Varsity Color Guard, QMS Percussion Ensemble, and the MHS Winter Percussion.
  • Tickets are $5.00 and we welcome the community, family & friends to come see the end result of all our students hard work.
  • Please see our FLYER for all the information and please spread the word.

Uniform Collection

Thursday, February 16th @ 5:30pm will be the next drop off date for uniforms. Drop off will be at the high school via the Band Room Door. Please head right upstairs to the uniform room to drop it off. We ask any color guard, senior, junior or sophomore that hasn’t already returned it as well as Freshman to bring them on the 16th. Uniforms should be washed in cold water, inside out and hung to dry.

SENIORS: Garment bag, dinkles, gloves, and shoe bag are yours to keep. Please ONLY return your full uniform, including shako in it’s box.

JUNIORS, SOPHOMORES, FRESHMAN: Please return your full uniform, IN THE GARMENT BAG, and your shako in it’s box. Please keep your dinkles, gloves, and shoe bag at home.

COLOR GUARD: This is for your FALL costume only – not winter. If you have prior years costumes from the FALL season we ask that you please bring those as well.

Please forward this email to all your friends who have students in the band. Although Mr. DeJoy can message everyone, we need folks to specifically sign up through the MBPA to get notifications from the MBPA.

MONTHLY BAND PARENTS MEETING: the next Band Parent meeting will be held on March 2nd at 6PM in Room 135. PLEASE JOIN US!
