GOLF TOURNAMENT
Open to EVERYONE so spread the word to family and friends. DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO SUNDAY APRIL 26th. Please join us for a fun day of golf, prizes, and lunch at the Easton Country Club on Thursday, May 14th starting at 9:30am. Don’t play golf? Plenty of opportunity for donations and sponsorships. Click here for FLYER and REGISTRATION information.
We also need help with running the event on the 14th as well as donations for raffles. Sign up for both of these can be found HERE
GILLETTE
Thank you to everyone that volunteered last season. We have now moved into our new season and the SIGN UP has been updated with all available events. Please do not wait until the last minute to sign up. If you know you can work an event, please put your name down. Last year we raised ~43K for the band program all of which went towards supporting our students. Running an event with just 5-7 is not sustainable and we will be forced to remove ourselves from events we cannot staff. The more events we cannot staff the higher the risk of losing both important funds to support the students as well as the Gillette contract altogether. This is not a threat, simply a fact. Please also note that in order to staff the World Cup events we are required to staff event between now and then. The more events we remove ourselves from, the less World Cup events we will have access to.
If you are interested in working a World Cup event but have not received your credentialing email, please email gillette2@mansfieldbandparents.org so that they can add your name to the list and get you the email. Credentialing is required by FIFA (this is not a MBPA or Gillette requirement) and it is different than the one done for the NFL games.
CLICK HERE to get a more detailed overview of Gillette and the expectation of involvement.
Please remember that to keep Gillette – OUR LARGEST FUNDRAISER – active we not only need volunteers to staff the booth but we are also looking for:
- 2 people to learn what being a Gillette Coordinator is all about. If you are interested please reach out to either Guy Tomase or Katherine Chaloupka at gillette2@mansfieldbandparents.org
- Additional people to be Serve Safe to help ensure the stand is run safely – we are waiting for the next training to be announced, but will certainly get that information out as soon as we have it.
- People to learn how to manage the kitchen
- People to learn how to manage the stand
2026-2027 BOARD & AUXILIARY POSITIONS NEEDED
With 29 Seniors graduating and other terms ending, we are in need of a number of people to help continue to run MBPA. The MBPA primary function is to fundraise and support the band (concert, marching, mini guard, varsity guard, and percussion grades 6-12) Without this help and continued engagement, we will not have the funds or the capacity to help the students and run the program at the level we do today.
Positions are truly what you make them and each person as the ability to make it their own. Working as a team, duties are divided up as the group deems appropriate. Monthly hours can be anything from one to 10 depending on the time of year, if a trip is happening, band camp, competitions, fall vs winter, and many other factors. Keeping in mind that what you see the board doing today does not mean the board of the future needs to continue.
So what are we looking for – terms are for 1 year and run from 7/1 thru 6/30:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer “In Training” (Treasurer ONLY has a term of 2 years) – the “in-training” position would help get the person ready for the 29/30 school year.
- Web Content
- Grant Writer
- Truck Driver(s) – Fall / Winter
- Monthly fundraising
- Gillette Coordinators
If interested in any of these positions, but want more information please reach out to any of the current board members (emails below) and we’d be happy to talk to you about it.
Otherwise, you can email your interest, including the specific position, to president@mansfieldbandparents.org no later than May 4th. The slate for the new board will be presented at the May 11th meeting and the vote will take place during the June meeting.
More information can also be found in our by-laws that you can access HERE
CAN/BOTTLE RECYCLING DRIVE
Please remember that we have an ongoing fundraiser with Mansfield Redemption Center located at 45 Forbes Blvd, across from Stop & Shop. Simply bring your cans & bottles there and let them know you are donating them for Mansfield Band Parents. Gets them out of your basement and helps the band – WIN/WIN
UNFUNDRAISER / BUSINESS SPONSORS
Unfundraiser will raise funds for this season as well as allow us to replenish funds for ALL programs. The more funds we raise, the more bells and whistles we are able to provide the band, marching band, guard, and percussion groups. It’s a fundraiser that is tax deductable, can be matched if your company has a matching program, and shared with friends and family. We appreciate any donation. Donation In-Kind letters will be provided.
MILES UNFUNDRAISER FLYER
Additionally, we created a business sponsor fundraiser. Do you or a family member own a business or perhaps you work for a company that likes to support the performing arts. Please use this flyer for these type of donations. Depending on your level of donation, we will show our appreciation with Social Media posts, add your logos to our show shirts, and include your business’ name in our concert program. We would love to share with everyone the businesses who support us. If you have any questions please reach out. Donation In-Kind letters will be provided.
