Thank you to all who came out this weekend to see the guard and percussion groups! It was great to see everyone. The support and energy that you provided meant the world to the student performers. We still have quite a few upcoming events for Music in our Schools Month. Take a look below at the week at a glance and important updates.
Tuesday Rehearsals
Rehearsals on 3/14 are cancelled due to the winter storm
NESBA Dartmouth
The percussion and guard groups are off to Dartmouth this weekend for a competition. It is quite a late one for percussion as is next week! As always we need help with percussion equipment. Please sign up to help using this link. Thank you!
All Bands Concert
The all town band concert is on Thursday, March 23rd at 7:30pm at the high school. This event is for all concert band students and is free and open to the public. The event was pushed back to 7:30 to accommodate students celebrating Ramadan. We have a dress rehearsal for this concert on Monday, March 20th from 7:15pm-8:30pm. All concert band students must attend the dress rehearsal and concert. Concert band call time on the day of the concert is at 5:30pm. Students should wear all black.
MICCA – Field trip forms went home today (and tomorrow) please return them by Friday, March 17th.
We are participating in the MICCA festival on Friday, March 31st from 2:00pm-4:30pm. This is for all concert band students. We are looking for some parent volunteers to chaperone kids and help set up the stage. We also need someone to drive a small equipment truck there and back. Please let me know if you are interested!
Added Concert
We have added a concert to our calendar. Our jazz band and concert percussion has been busy and need a concert to showcase their work! Join us on Wednesday, April 12th at 7:00pm for a night of jazz and percussion featuring groups from MHS and QMS. This concert is mandatory for all jazz band members and all concert band percussionists.
Dayton
We are still looking for one parent chaperone for Dayton. As a reminder all chaperones have their travel and hotel costs covered. If you are interested please email me.
