It’s that time of year again! Saturday March 19th, student musicians from dozens of schools along with hundreds of parents and spectators will descend on Mansfield High School for the annual NESBA Percussion and color guard competition Home Show! As you may be aware, the Home Show is one of our biggest, and certainly our most challenging fundraiser each year with more than 80 volunteer positions spread out over three shifts during a full day of competitive activity. In addition to offering hot meals to our visitors during the course of the day, we also strive to offer one of the largest and most varied bake sale tables. Please help us if you can by baking or purchasing baked goods that can be donated to the cause!
What should you bake?
Whatever is your specialty is welcome 🙂 Most parents will bake cookies, brownies, cupcakes, squares, candies, essentially anything that can be neatly portioned out into manageable single portions or grouped in sandwich baggies for sale.
How should you package your donation?
Ideally, items like cookies/brownies, etc. would go 4-per, into sandwich baggies. Cupcakes and larger items are best delivered in foil pans or other disposable packaging. Don’t worry too much about it though, as our bake sale table students will also take care of packaging and pricing.
What about goods with allergens such as peanuts, or specialties like gluten-free or sugar-free items?
Please clearly mark if your donation contains nuts (any kind of nuts), or if your donation is a specialty such as gluten-free or low-sugar.
When and where are the baked goods needed?
All items should be delivered to the MHS cafeteria on the morning of the 19TH, between 9am and noon. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can brave the flood of father-daughter dancers and drop your items off at the band room on Friday night the 18th. There will be Band Parents on-hand there doing prep work for the show.
