MARCHING BAND UNIFORMS / INVOICES
- You will be receiving an invoice from Jeff, our treasurer, over the next few weeks for shoes, gloves, show shirt, or polo shirt where applicable. Invoices can be paid through the QB program. If you need financial assistance, please reach out to Jeff or Mr. DeJoy and we will be happy to help.
- All students have received everything except their hats for their uniforms. Hats will be given out prior to the competition on Saturday. LABEL, LABEL, LABEL. Please label all parts of their uniform, including shoes. This helps us get them back to the student when left behind
- Washing the uniform. Uniforms can be washed if needed on a gentle cycle in cold water and turned inside out. Hang to dry.
BUTTONS
All students have been given their buttons to bring home. These are a gift to you from the MBPA. Buttons can be worn whenever/wherever you want. They are simply a way to show your pride in the band and your student. If you are interested in ordering more buttons for yourself or family members, please use this ORDER FORM. Orders will be accepted until Monday, Sept 29th.
FALL HOME SHOW
We continue to move forward gearing up for our October 18th Home Show. This is our first time hosting a fall competition and we are looking forward to it being the first of many. Please be on the look out for our sub-committees reaching out for help. It is going to take a lot of helping hands to make this a success.
- DAY OF VOLUNTEERS – We will need a lot of helping hands the day of the competition. Day will probably start around 3:00pm and run until around 9:00pm (subject to change as we finalize everything). If you are able to help, please CLICK HERE to sign up to help.
- RAFFLE BASKETS – An email has gone out to each main group (WINDS / PERCUSSION/FRONT ENSEMBLE / GUARD) to ask for help in creating a basket that will be raffled off at the show. Looking for 2 people to sign up as the leads and then use the emails to reach out to all others to help create the basket. You only need to enter your name into the sign up genius if you are taking the lead.
- FIELD HELP FOR BAND – We will still need helping hands to get the students on and off the field. Please do NOT sign up to help with the band if you’ve signed up to volunteer. CLICK HERE if you are able to help move equipment. Slots may change slightly as we get closer if we have our props ready for the show. So check back in case we need additional helping hand.
FUNDRAISING:
- CAN DRIVE Bring your cans & glass bottles to the Redemption Center located on Forbes Blvd across from Stop and Shop. Cans and plastic bottles can be in bags but glass bottles should be returned in either boxes or their original packaging. You should have a count to provide them with of what you are delivering. You can either let them know it is for Mansfield Band or provide them with this printed form
- CALENDAR Do you own a local business and are willing to donate (gift card, monetary gift, service or merchandise) to our calendar raffle? We are looking for prizes to fill up the 30 days of November and would love to have your support! Don’t have a business yourself? We can use help going to local businesses asking for their support with donations as well as ads for our program book. Letter to be used when going to businesses can be found HERE. Please reach out to Sara Tomase at vicepresident@mansfieldbandparents.org to get a list of businesses. Please don’t go without checking in as we don’t want businesses to be asked multiple times.
- BAND SWAG APPAREL Looking for a way to show your support for the band & guard program? Look no further. Click on the link below and order away. Store closes on Wednesday, Sept 24th and orders will be in by mid-October. Portion of the proceeds also go towards the band program so it’s a win for everyone.

GILLETTE – CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP
For those who were unable to make the band camp meeting, CLICK HERE to get a more detailed overview of Gillette and the expectation of involvement. We are also looking for 2 people to learn what being a Gillette Coordinator is all about. If you are interested please reach out to either Guy Tomase or Katherine Chaloupka at gillette2@mansfieldbandparents.org
Remember, thanks to the generosity of the Ault Family, for every event a family member volunteers, your student’s name will be entered into a drawing to win one of two weekend get aways in Mashpee. One peak season and one off peak. Similar to any other rental, there will need to be an adult over the age of 21 present during the entire weekend stay. Winners will be drawn in February at the end of our contract season.
We know, understand, and appreciate that everyone has jobs, multiple children, and lives outside of band. We know that the ever changing rules from Gillette are frustrating. We know that not being able to have the student’s help isn’t fair. However, the same 10 people cannot continue this effort. If the year continues on this path we will be forced to end our contract with Gillette which will put forth Marching Band and Winter seasons that will look very different than what we have grown to love about our groups.
Short of having someone write us a $60,000 check – WE NEED GILLETTE TO CONTINUE. Please, if you are able, sign up. Sign up as soon as you know. Please do not wait until the week of. We do not have the luxury of giving Gillette our roster at the last minute.
Our next meeting is on Thursday, October 2nd @ 6:00pm held in the Chorus room at the High School
