Week at a Glance – 11/21

From Mr DeJoy:

Hello All,

I apologize for the lapse in updates over the last week but we are back at it again! I wanted to send next week’s week at a glance ahead of time as I know many of you have holiday planning. The winter percussion and guard season has officially begun and our winter concert is only a month away. It is crazy how time flies! The week at a glance and updates are attached.

Winter Percussion Meeting
Winter percussion auditions are this Saturday. Audition placements will be posted in the band room Monday morning. All who are in the ensemble will have a meeting on Tuesday the 22nd in the auditorium at 6:00pm. This meeting is also for parents and will last about half an hour or so. We will discuss the schedule for the season as well as the expected costs for the season. The MBPA will also be there to discuss some matters and answer any questions you may have.

Thanksgiving Football Game
As is tradition we will be performing at the Thanksgiving Football Game. This is an away game in Foxboro. The truck will be loaded with all equipment on Tuesday the 22nd at winter percussion. All students will meet at the high school at 8:15am on Thanksgiving. The bus leaves at 8:30. Students should return around 12:30. Students should wear their uniform (no shakos). Students can wear winter hats to keep warm. Students will be performing the first two movements of the show for the last time!! We will need a few volunteers for this game. I will send out a sign up on Monday.

Holiday Parade
Our holiday parade is Sunday the 27th. Students should arrive at 2:15pm at the North Common in Mansfield. The parade begins at 3:00pm and should conclude by around 3:45pm on the South Common. The school will be open from 1:45-2:15 and will also be opened briefly after the parade. Students should wear their uniform (no shakos). Students are encouraged to wear festive holiday hats. We will be playing Let it Snow during the parade.
