Holiday Wrap-up

From Mr Ketterer:

Good Afternoon,

Thank you to everyone that came to the winter concert. It has been an absolute pleasure making music with the students of MHS. As I stated during the concert, in my 12 years of teaching, this is honestly the most fun I have had creating and performing. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to hold an in-person winter concert this year, and share a night of music with everyone. The students performed exceptionally well and I could not be more proud of every single student. Students are already working diligently on preparing the next concert program for our Band Concert in March. More details will be coming as QMS and MHS continue to plan and prepare. But for now, please enjoy your winter vacation, it is well deserved and much needed.

With our Winter Percussion Homeshow approaching on February 19, 2022, the MBPA is organizing the Sponsorship Fundraiser. Materials will be handed out tonight at the Winter Percussion rehearsal to all students. Please make note of the dates listed in your students packet. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. I realize that some students will be going away for vacation and will not be here for tonight’s rehearsal. If your student is not around tonight we will be sure to get the packet out as soon as they return.

The MBPA has decided to create a Gillette Fundraiser subcommittee to run this fundraiser in 2022. The committee should consist of at least 4 members, and as many as 8. The subcommittee will plan which events the MBPA will staff, and assign 4 jobs per event: event stand manager, event kitchen manager, recruitment manager, and paperwork manager. Christine Bellavance has already volunteered to be on this subcommittee in some capacity, and Aaron Nicodemus, who is stepping down from running the fundraiser in 2022, will help get it off the ground. The subcommittee will meet for the first time in January 2022. If you are interested in running this fundraiser, which has raised over $60,000 in 2021 for this amazing program, please contact Aaron at gillette AND Christine at Gillette2.

The MBPA still needs volunteers for the last two Patriot games of the season. Both Pats games left on the schedule are worth double credit events!!

  • Sunday Dec. 26: Pats v. Bills 8:30 a.m. gate call, should be done by 5 p.m. We still need 2 volunteers for the normal stand and 4 hot chocolate volunteers.

  • Sunday Jan. 2, 2022: Pats v. Jaguars, 8:30 a.m. gate call, should be done by 5 p.m. We still need 1 volunteer.

Gillette also announced they will MATCH all credit card tips earned during the 12/26 game! This could be HUGE for the MBPA! We have potential to earn as much as we would if we worked an additional event–but we need to have a fully staffed booth!!!

If you need to come late or leave early, please contact Christine Bellavance at Gillette2
