From Mr Ketterer:
Good Afternoon!
This week has been a productive week! We were able to fine tune our performance for movements 1, 2 and 3 of our field show. The students worked hard this week learning the music and drill for movement 4! We are very excited to compete tomorrow at the Billerica show! Just a reminder that students should report to the school tomorrow (10/16) at 10:15 for rehearsal prior to loading the truck for the competition. Students will have to enter and exit by the music room/ auditorium door for the morning portion of the rehearsal. PSAT’s will be held in the cafeteria, and no student will be allowed into that main hallway until the conclusion of the exam. Students will be allowed to quietly enter through that one door, get their instrument and then proceed to the field for rehearsal.
If students are interested in auditioning for districts please have them come see me. I have had only a few students come to see me, but I will need to register students for auditions soon. I would also like to make sure that they have the correct solo to work on, and that I can get them registered. Just a friendly reminder, if you plan on volunteering for competitions or school events you must have a CORI completed. The CORI form can be found on the district website as well as on the MBPA website. Please try to get this done as soon as you can. That way you are covered for the entire school year and can volunteer and help.
The MBPA is looking for THREE more volunteers for the Patriots v. Cowboys game at Gillette next Sunday, Oct. 17. Those volunteers are needed to help us run our booth, Backyard Barbecue 140 (BBQ 140). One of those two slots is open to a student aged 16-17. Each volunteer shift is worth a $25 student credit. Gate call is 11:30 a.m., done by 8:30 p.m. There is also a new opportunity for FOUR additional hot chocolate volunteers, who would also work in BBQ 140 during the Oct. 17 game. The work involves mixing hot chocolate for many booths by pouring hot water and hot chocolate mix into large containers. Gillette is allowing three of the four hot chocolate slots to be taken by students aged 16-17. One hot chocolate volunteer must be an adult, per Gillette rules. Each volunteer will receive the same $25 stipend as volunteers in Backyard Barbecue 140. Here’s a link to our Sign Up Genius: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0a4caaac28a3f94-20183
