Good Afternoon!
This week has been a productive week! We were able to fine tune our performance for movements 1 and 2 of our field show. The students and I are very excited for the opportunity to perform at our first competition of the year tomorrow Oct 2. Just a reminder that rehearsal starts at 10:15 so students should arrive at 10, and should have sunscreen, food for lunch, snacks, and food for dinner/money for concessions. If your student is taking the SAT’s that day, please remind them that they should eat something before coming out to join us for rehearsal. We will be there when they get out.
It was very nice seeing many of you last week for the mandatory marching band meeting. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to answer questions in person, and to formally meet many of you for the first time. As a reminder, if you have any questions or wish to report an absence, you may call my school line. However, email is the best way to reach me. I generally respond as soon as I can.
If students are interested in auditioning for districts please have them come see me. I would like to make sure that they have the correct solo to work on, and that I can get them registered. Just a friendly reminder, if you plan on volunteering for competitions or school events you must have a CORI completed. The CORI form can be found on the district website as well as on the MBPA website. Please try to get this done as soon as you can. That way you are covered for the entire school year and can volunteer and help.
The Mansfield Band Parents need TWO more adult volunteers for this Sunday’s (10/3) Patriots vs. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game at Gillette Stadium. Gate call is 3:30 p.m., done by 11:30 p.m. We will be in BBQ 140, our booth for the Patriots season. If you need to come late or leave early, please contact Aaron at 608-216-4511 or via this email to make arrangements. They are flexible! Please consider volunteering! Monday 10/04: Guard 6:00-9
Tuesday 10/05: Winds/Battery/Pit 6:00-9
Thursday 10/07: ALL 6:00-9
Saturday 10/09: Schedule will be sent out early next week once official performance times have been confirmed.
**Football game Friday, October 8th. The game starts at 7, call time for students is 6pm. Students should arrive in ½ uniform. Jackets will be put on when we proceed to march to the field.**
