Band Camp 2021

Hello Mansfield Band Families!

I am so excited to officially welcome everyone back to our amazing Mansfield Marching Band! I know that we are all anxious to confirm our new Band Director and have a clearer picture of what the fall looks like, so I appreciate your patience as we navigate this transition. Thankfully, with the support of our administration and the Mansfield Band Parents Association, our staff is ready to run our annual band camp next week, August 16th-August 21st. This year, due to staff conflicts, we will be running a modified schedule. Please see the below schedule:

Monday (8/16) – Friday (8/20) – 4pm-9pm

Saturday (8/21) – 1pm arrival
                           6:00pm Parent/Guardian Meet and Greet
                           6:30pm Family Performance
                           7:00pm Family Cook-out

Arrival times are as posted. Students DO NOT need to arrive earlier than 4pm (M-F) or 1pm (Sat). Students will be dismissed as close to 9pm as possible. They will be asked to help clean up after rehearsal and wait to be dismissed by a Drum Major.

Students will need:
– to wear sneakers, athletic/activewear (no jeans)
recommended: hats/sunscreen/layers for changing temperatures/bug spray
– to bring water, dinner/snacks, instruments, music, music accessories (reeds, valve oil, etc.)

Summer Band Camp Medical Information will be collected through the following google form. Please fill this out for every student you have attending band camp. This is vital so that our staff has the necessary information to keep our students safe in the event of a medical emergency.

The Mansfield Band Parents Association will be holding a kickoff meet and greet for all marching band parents on Saturday at 6:00pm in the auditorium. This meeting will be followed by our performance and a cook-out where everyone can celebrate a successful week! More details about both the meeting and the cookout will be sent out sometime during band camp week.

Lastly, I just want to once again thank you for your patience and support through this time of change for our program. Regardless of who is at the top, our students and families are what keeps this program thriving.

I look forward to seeing everyone next week and please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

See you all soon!

Ms. Pep
