Big things happening in Mansfield Band Program these days. Not only did the Percussion Ensemble take 1st place at the WGI Regional Championship on Saturday night, but both Green AND White Winter Guard took 1st place in their competitions as well!! CONGRATS to all 3 units!! As luck would have it, you can all have the opportunity to see all of these groups perform right at Mansfield High School next Saturday night, March 7th at our annual Home Show!! You will also have the opportunity to see the QMS Percussion Ensembles first public performance of the year! Come on out and cheer on the home teams….these shows are fantastic and you won’t be disappointed! Scheduled performance times are: White Guard 2:03 PM Green Guard 2:47 PM QMS Percussion 3:40 PM MHS Percussion 5:25 PM The Home Show is a big fundraiser for the ENTIRE Band and Color Guard program and we can really use EVERYONE’S help to make the day as successful and profitable for these amazing programs as possible. There are still several volunteer slots which we need filled including: 2 Volunteer Check-in from 2:30-5:30 1 Kitchen from 5:30-7:00 1 Performer and Equip. load in from 2:30-5:30 1 Performer re-entry door from 1-3:30 1 Performer re-entry door from 3:30-6:30 2 Parking from 11:30-2:30 2 Parking from 2:30-5:30 HOME SHOW VOLUNTEERS We try to fill the earlier slots with non-guard families and friends and the later afternoon slots with non-percussion families and friends so every one has the opportunity to see their child/team perform. If you are signed up for a time that conflicts with your students performance schedule, no problem….just let one of us know and we will arrange coverage so you can scoot over to watch the performance! And finally, we are still in need of donations for candy, bake sale items, soda and a few other things for the day. Soda is a new addition to the Sign-Up Genius (we usually get the soda donated, unfortunately they were unable to accommodate us this year….bummer!).
