From Mr McGuire:
Good Evening Everyone,
I hope you are all doing well. Thank you for those of you who came out to support the band at the football game on Friday night and the competition on Saturday. And again, to those parents who helped out with equipment – thank you so much!
We are working on getting some more NESBA passes for NESBA sanctioned events for parents who are volunteering so you won’t have to pay admission. This weekend is a USBands event, so we should have enough passes for those parents who are helping this weekend.
After consultation with Superintendent Murphy, we feel confident that we can rehearse until 8pm on Monday and Thursday this week. The spraying for mosquitos over our campus and fields was completed last week so we don’t run the risk of students rehearsing while that spraying takes place. I continue to recommend long sleeves and pants if to help avoid contact with bugs and we will have bug spray available at rehearsal if students want some and don’t have any of their own. If there is any particular concern for an individual student, please let me know – we want everyone to feel comfortable with the rehearsal process. Safety is our top priority, but we want to try and get our rehearsal schedule back on track and feel comfortable getting closer to our normal rehearsal time.
Students should report at 5:15pm this week and we will complete rehearsal by 8pm. I do realize that this is still a scheduling change from the initial calendar, so if there is a conflict please have your child reach out to me and I will make accommodations for them. Students observing Rosh Hashanah are excused from rehearsal. Just have them send me an email and let me know so I can mark them as excused.
Thank you for your continued patience on the schedule changes. It has been at times challenging for the parents, students, and staff – but I believe we are acting in the best interest of the students and that is always our top priority. I will do my best to keep you updated with the most current information as soon as I have it.
Please take a look at the newsletter attached to this email along with the schedule for Saturday’s competition. As always, please reach out if you have any questions.
Thank you for your support!
All the best,
Matt
