ADDITIONAL DECEMBER UPDATES
Apologies for the 2nd newsletter in a month – but we just have a few more announcements that we needed to provide. Thank you for taking the time to read.
SHOE DONATIONS:
Reminder that if you still have shoes you want to donate, please email president@mansfieldbandparents.org to arrange drop off and we will add them to to the pile. There are no more donoation boxes, so you will need to email to arrange a drop off. We will have until a week or two after the 1st of the year before our scheduled pick up.
OLD UNIFORMS
Now that we have our brand new uniforms, which were a big hit both on the field with our spectators and off the field with our students, we are looking to off load the old uniforms in a way that will keep the majority of them out of the landfill.
We will be donating one uniform to the Mansfield Historical Society
- If you would like to purchase a uniform (we have been approached, which is why we are offering) please reach out to vicepresident@mansfieldbandparents.org. Purchase will be for just the jacket (unless pants are specifically asked for – there is no additional cost for the pants) and the cost will be $40.
- Decorative Pillow made out of the uniform jacket. This is be on a pre-sale basis only and the cost will be $75. Again, please email vicepresident@mansfieldbandparents.org with your request.
- Whether you would like the uniform or the pillow, all requests and payments need to be received no later than February 1, 2026. Payment can be in the form of a check made out to MBPA or via venmo @MansfieldBPA. If using venmo please put Uniform OR Uniform Pillow in the memo line so that we can track the requests.
- After February 1st, you will be contacted with next steps. This is a great way to help perserve some Mansfield History, provide some fundraising for the band, and reduce the amount of landfill waste they would otherwise cause.
NOTICE OF SCHOOL COMMITTEE OPENING

Message from Jenn Walsh, School Committee Chair
The Mansfield School Committee is currently seeking candidates for an interim school committee member. During a regular election, elected members of the Mansfield School Committee each serve a three-year term. However, the term for this interim position will end on May 12, 2026 (election day.) As an interim candidate, you may choose to run for the next full 3-year position by completing the necessary forms that will be released by the Town Clerk in late winter.
Members of the Committee are directly responsible to the citizens of our town—and therefore, work on behalf of all townspeople. While the School Committee has budgetary and policy-making authority, the Superintendent is charged with the day-to-day administration and oversight of the Mansfield Public Schools. The purpose of the committee is to oversee the process and advocate for each of our students to give them the very best education possible. Committee members are committed to excellence in education, while working within the strict boundaries which frame public education.

Applications are due to the Town Clerk by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. A joint meeting of the Select Board and School Committee will then be held to interview candidates and by majority roll call vote choose the new school committee member.
