SENIOR PHOTOS / VETERANS DAY PARADE
- A reminder that, weather permitting, we will be taking senior photos for the banquet banners at the parade. If your senior could please make every effort to be there we would appreciate it. We will coordinate another date for anyone unable to attend.
NEW MEETING TIME
- At the request of many, we will be moving our general MBPA meetings, held on the first Thursday of each month (mostly) to 6:30PM. The meetings will still be held in the high school choir room. This time change begins tomorrow, November 6th.
MARCHING BAND UNIFORMS
- All Students have been fitted (to the best of our ability) in order for them to be worn for the last few events.
- If your student isn’t 100% comfortable with their current fitting, please know that all student will be fitted again come August Band Camp
- We are trying a new way to track uniforms, so you will notice that there are NOT name tags inside the uniforms. We did however, put name tags on the outside of the uniforms until they were able to get inside the garment bags. Please make sure your students has removed any tags that may still be on either their top or pants. If any label residue is left on the uniform, please just use a soft cloth and warm water to remove it.
- If in the next 4 times the uniform is worn your student gets something on it, they can be machined wash. Please use cold water on a gentle cycle. Hang to dry – DO NOT put it in the dryer.
MARCHING BAND INVOICES
- All invoices for the marching band season have been submitted. If you have not already done so, please submit payment as soon as possible. Please note that failure to pay your invoice may result in their ability to be involved with future event.
- If you need Financial Aid please reach out to either Jeff @ treasurer@mansfieldbandparents.org or to Mr. DeJoy and we can assist.
FUNDRAISING:
- SHOE DRIVE
- WHAT: Donate your gently worn, used, or new shoes to help raise funds for the MBPA supporting the Band. Funds are raised based on the total weight of the shoes collected — so every pair counts!
- All shoes will be redistributed through Funds2Orgs, a social enterprise that works with micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations. Your donations help families start small businesses and build better lives!
- WHEN: October 27th- December 11th
- WHERE: Lobby of QMS & High School; Mansfield Council on Aging; Mansfield YMCA; Foxbor YMCA; Mansfield Crossing Marathon Sports
- Please let all your friends and family know and find a drop box to donate. Please remember the shoes do need to be in wearable condition. Shoes with holes, damages soles, or broken straps/buckles cannot be accepted.
- CAN DRIVE
- Bring your cans & glass bottles to the Redemption Center located on Forbes Blvd across from Stop and Shop. Cans and plastic bottles can be in bags but glass bottles should be returned in either boxes or their original packaging. You should have a count to provide them with of what you are delivering. You can either let them know it is for Mansfield Band or provide them with this printed form
- CALENDAR
- Thank you to everyone who purchased a calendar. It was a successful fundraiser for both students and MBPA. Please keep an eye on the Facebook feed for winners. Anyone not on the Facebook page will be contacted via their information provided or through the student it was purchased from.
- BAND SWAG APPAREL
- Thanks to everyone who purchased during our fall store. Winter store is being put together so be on the lookout for that in the next few weeks.
- Jake & Joes Dining for Dollars
- Mark your calendars for our next Dining for Dollars event, which will be held on Tuesday, December 9th. Flyer and info will be sent out soon.
- GILLETTE – CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP

Remember, thanks to the generosity of the Ault Family, for every event a family member volunteers, your student’s name will be entered into a drawing to win one of two weekend get aways in Mashpee. One peak season and one off peak. Similar to any other rental, there will need to be an adult over the age of 21 present during the entire weekend stay. Winners will be drawn in February at the end of our contract season.
Please remember that to keep Gillette – OUR LARGEST FUNDRAISER – active we not only need volunteers to staff the booth but we are also looking for:
- 2 people to learn what being a Gillette Coordinator is all about. If you are interested please reach out to either Guy Tomase or Katherine Chaloupka at gillette2@mansfieldbandparents.org
- Additional people to be Serve Safe to help ensure the stand is run safely
- People to learn how to manage the kitchen
- People to learn how to manage the stand
