KEEP MANSFIELD BEAUTIFUL
- Thank you to all the students and adult volunteers who came out in the rain to clean up approx. 10 bags of trash around QMS, the HS, and along Rt 106.
- The plan is to make this a yearly event.
GILLETTE – CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP
- Saturday May 24th LAX Tournament – We need 9 more people
- Saturday May 31st Post Malone/Jelly Roll – We need 3 more people
- Saturday June 14th Revs Game – We need 11 more people
- Saturday June 21st George Straight – We need 13 more people
We are committed to running BBQ 118 with a minimum of 10 people (14 makes life a lot easier for all of us)
We are dangerously close to losing our status with Gillette which means if we keep backing out of events, we could be moved to the upper levels, split between multiple stands having to share stipends with another group, or have Gillette taken away from us altogether.
We know, understand, and appreciate that everyone has jobs, multiple children, and lives outside of band. We know that the ever changing rules from Gillette are frustrating. We know that not being able to have the student’s help isn’t fair. However, the same 10 people cannot continue this effort. If this year continues on this path we will need to re-evaluate keeping our contract with Gillette and put forth Marching Band and Winter seasons that will look very different than what we have grown to love about our groups.
Short of having someone write us a $60,000 check – WE NEED GILLETTE TO CONTINUE. Please, if you are able, sign up. Sign up as soon as you know. Please do not wait until the week of. We do not have the luxury of giving Gillette our roster at the last minute.
25/26 – BOARD POSITIONS
- The slate for the 25/26 school year as presented at the May meeting is as follows:
- President – Frani Spivak
- Secretary – Sharyl Carrigan
- Treasurer – Jeff Kobs
- Vice President – Sara Tomase
- We will vote at the June meeting being held on June 5th @ 6:00pm in the Chorus room. Please come out for our last meeting of the season to vote.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
- Thank you to our scholarship committee who worked to select 2 students for our scholarships. The $500 scholarship awards will be presented on scholarship night at the HS. Winners will be announced after the event. Congratulations!
FALL HOME SHOW COMMITTEE
- Thank you to everyone who volunteered to work on this committee. We will get out a poll for a date to start the process. May has been such a whirlwind of events it will be closer to beginning/mid June when we will have the meeting. Please be on the look out for an email if you signed up to be on the committee and thank you for your patience.
250 PARADE – May 17th, 2025
- Turned out to be a great day for a parade. Weather was perfect for marching. Lots of videos of the band marching and playing along with a number of stills posted to our Facebook page. Certainly was a huge undertaking by the parade committee and we were glad to be a part of it. Thank you to all our alumni who came out to march with us.
