KEEP MANSFIELD BEAUTIFUL – CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP

  • The high school music department will be helping out this year with the annual Keep Mansfield Beautiful program. This year the event will be held on Saturday, April 26th from 9:00am – 11:00am. Students and family members are welcome to join our group. We will either be assigned the school area or Memorial Park Area – exact meeting location will be sent out once confirmed. Gloves and bags will be provided for us. Please complete this form no later than Sunday, April 20th so we have a count to submit.
  • This will count as an hour for Tri-M and NHS students. In addition, if your student needs service hours for confirmation, scouts, etc. the MBPA will be happy to sign off on the hours.
  • If multiple people in the same household are attending, please fill out a separate form for each person.
  • The plan is to make this a yearly event and hope that you will consider joining us for this great cause. Thank you.

GILLETTE – CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP

  • Saturday April 12th – We need 3-4 more people
  • Sunday May 4th – We need 9 more people
  • Monday May 12th – We need 9 more people

We are committed to running BBQ 118 with a minimum of 10 people (14 makes life a lot easier for all of us)

We are dangerously close to losing our status with Gillette which means if we keep backing out of events, we could be moved to the upper levels, split between multiple stands having to share stipends with another group, or have Gillette taken away from us altogether.

We know, understand, and appreciate that everyone has jobs, multiple children, and lives outside of band. We know that the ever changing rules from Gillette are frustrating. We know that not being able to have the student’s help isn’t fair. However, the same 10 people cannot continue this effort. If this year continues on this path we will need to re-evaluate keeping our contract with Gillette and put forth Marching Band and Winter seasons that will look very different than what we have grown to love about our groups.

Short of having someone write us a $60,000 check – WE NEED GILLETTE TO CONTINUE. Please, if you are able, sign up. Sign up as soon as you know. Please do not wait until the week of. We do not have the luxury of giving Gillette our roster at the last minute.

25/26 – BOARD POSITIONS

  • President, Vice President, and Secretary positions are open for the 25/26 school year as these are one year positions (the treasurer is a 2-year position). If anyone is interested in any of these positions, please email president@mansfieldbandparents.org no later than April 30th. The slate will be presented at the May meeting and then voted on at the June meeting. Positions are from July through June.
  • If you have questions on any of these positions, please feel free to reach out to anyone on the board or check out our by-laws on our website.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE

  • We are still looking for 2 more NON-Senior parents to be part of our scholarship committee.
  • Applications from seniors are due into the MBPA no later than April 18th
  • Committee then reviews submitted (redacted) applications
  • We submit the winners to Guidance by May 2nd
  • 2 of the committee members are needed to present scholarships at scholarship night
  • If interested please email president@mansfieldbandparents.org no later than April 18th.

FALL HOME SHOW COMMITTEE

  • We are looking for about 10-14 people to help with the fall home show planning. The competition will take place on October 18th. We are very excited to be hosting for the 1st time in Mansfield and can be quite profitable.
  • If interested, please email president@mansfieldbandparents.org no later than May 1st. We will be having our first committee meeting mid-May outside of the MBPA meeting.

250 PARADE – May 17th, 2025

  • Tee-shirts that will be worn as the “uniform” are being ordered, music will be sent out, and exact time and location of gathering will be sent out soon

FUNDRAISING:

  • CAN DRIVE Bring your cans & glass bottles to the Redemption Center located on Forbes Blvd across from Stop and Shop. Cans and plastic bottles can be in bags but glass bottles should be returned in either boxes or their original packaging. You should have a count to provide them with of what you are delivering. You can either let them know it is for Mansfield Band or provide them with this printed form

CREDIT MEMOS & INVOICES:

  • If you have an outstanding invoice we ask that you please pay it as soon as possible. If you need financial assistance, please reach out to Jeff (treasurer@mansfieldbandparents.org) or Mr. DeJoy as soon as possible so we can assist where needed.

SENIOR FAT HEADS

  • As we have done in the past – we would like to provide you information to purchase Fat Heads for your senior. This has historically been a winter percussion/guard purchase – but anyone is welcome to purchase one for their senior. These are a fun addition to bring along to competitions, class day, graduation, and more.
    • Go to www.fathead.com – suggest signing up for their emails to get a discount code.
    • Click on Custom Foam Core Big Head
    • Suggest choosing Medium Size of 18 x 24. They are $29.99
    • FOR SHORT HAIR – Choose Short Hair (this will give you just the head)
    • FOR LONG HAIR: I suggest using Include Long Hair otherwise it will cut their hair off
    • Upload your photo
    • It requires you to put something in the designer box – you can simple put “No Designer Notes”
    • I would also suggest using the senior images that Chris Jones took as those will have the best upload quality. But you are welcome to use whatever photo you want. You can find these pictures HERE

BAND CAMP

  • 25/26 band camp will be from August 11th through August 16th and the expectation for MB students is that they are there for all of it.
  • Band Camp runs from 1:00pm through 9:00pm Mon-Fri and from 10am – 4:00pm on Saturday. Saturday ends with a family & friends showing off everything that was learned through the week and dinner with lawn games.
  • As time gets closer we can support anyone that needs help getting to and/or from the HS each day by creating a carpool sign up.
