FALL BUTTON ORDER

  • If you are interested in ordering additional buttons of your marching band student you can do so by clicking HEREOrders will be accepted until Sunday October 13th and we will contact you as soon as they come in.

FUNDRAISING:

Our fundraising goal for the 24/25 year is $20,000 (not including Gillette). We have raised approximately $4,500 so far and appreciate everyone’s support. Remember that your student doesn’t need to be in marching band to benefit from our fundraising effort. Even if the avenue to donate is through something the marching band is doing ALL band students benefit. With the funds raised, the MPBA is able to provide the truck for MICCA festival, tech equipment used by students during concerts, reduce cost of field trips, reduce cost of end of year banquet, create senior send-off banners, and much more.

  • APPAREL STORE You can access the link by clicking Apparel Store and it will be open for purchasing between today 10/3 and Sunday 10/13 @ midnight. Once the orders are in we will send out an email to arrange pick up/drop off. If orders are being purchased for holiday gifts, please reach out and let us know so that we don’t send them home with your students.
  • CLIMBING FOR CLEOPATRA We apologize for anyone who has tried to contribute to our Climb for Cleopatra fundraiser. We have had some trouble with our Venmo account so rather than delay the fundraiser any further, we have switched platforms and will now be using Zeffy for our fundraising campaigns. With Zeffy you can pay with your bank account, credit card or apple pay. The section to support the platform with an additional donation is OPTIONAL. If you would rather not, simply click other and put a zero. Please share this link CLIMB FOR CLEOPATRA with friends and family and disregard any other QR code or venmo reference as they will not work. Any issues or questions please reach out to anyone on the board. As always, you can still pay directly with a check and deliver it to a board member, Mr. DeJoy or mail to us at PO Box 147, Mansfield, MA 02048.
  • CALENDAR PRIZE A DAY Thank you to everyone who helped pull the calendar together by reaching out and following up with various business or anyone who contributed directly. The calendar will be distributed at the parent meeting and handed out to each marching band student on Tuesday 10/8. Calendars will be sold through the month of October. A few items to note:
    • PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE when completing the return portion, please fill it out as complete and legible as possible. All too often we are struggling to decipher handwriting, following up on last names, or figuring out which student the credit goes towards.
    • If someone is purchasing more than one calendar, you only need to return one slip. Simply put X2, X3, etc in the corner with a circle around it, highlighted or whatever else will draw our attention to it so the right number of entries are entered for that person.
    • If you are returning both calendar purchases as well as direct donations (money directly for the student without purchasing a calendar), please paperclip with a label or provide 2 different envelopes so it is clear what money goes towards each item.
    • Calendar stubs & Money will be collected from the students at practice on Thursday 10/31 (if practice ends up being canceled due to Halloween then we will collect on Tuesday 10/29)
  • Can drive – we will plan on having another drop off can drive in February. Until then you are still able to bring your cans & glass bottles to the Redemption Center located on Forbes Blvd across from Stop and Shop. Cans and plastic bottles can be in bags but glass bottles should be returned in either boxes or their original packaging. You should have a count to provide them with of what you are delivering. You can either let them know it is for Mansfield Band or provide them with this printed form

GILLETTE:

  • Please consider signing up. You can find the sign up genius HERE
    • We are now into Football season. All the Patriot games will be on Sunday with a report time of ~9:00am and done around ~6:00pm. We also no longer have the ability to add people at the last minute. All credentials need to be submitted one week ahead of game. If you know you are able to volunteer, please sign up as early as possible.
    • 10/13 game against Texans; we need 10 people
    • 10/27 game against Jets; we need 11 people
    • 11/17 game against Rams; we need 9 people
  • Anyone looking to carpool for any of the Gillette events, please reach out to Guy, Katherine, or Frani. You never have to worry about going it alone.
  • Please take a look at this Gillette Info Sheet which will help outline just how the money raised from Gillette helps. If our overall profit from Gillette continues to decrease the money to pay for items will be placed back onto the families OR those things will simply no longer happen.
  • Consider becoming a stand manager so that Guy & Katherine don’t have to bear the burden alone. If you are interested, please reach out to gillette2@mansfieldbandparents.org and they can give you the run down of responsibility.

DINKLE (shoes) & Gloves

  • All students should have received their shoes & gloves that they ordered. If there is anyone that didn’t or feels like they got the wrong size, please reach out to president@mansfieldbandparents.org ASAP.

SHOW SHIRTS

  • Every marching band & color guard student has been given their show shirts. These shirts should be worn under their uniforms so they can have it on after they are done competing and remove their uniform. Color guard can put it on once the show is done. Please make sure your washing between competitions.

UNIFORM

  • Reminder that all items (uniform, shoes, shako) should be labeled with your students name. Items occasionally get left places and we like to ensure they get back to the right person.
  • Every once in a while (especially if something gets spilled) please wash the uniform. Turn inside out and wash with a cold gentle cycle. Hang to dry.
