JUNE 2024 UPDATES

Want to give one more shout out to all our graduating seniors. We wish you all the best in your next exciting chapter. We have no doubt you will be very successful in all that you set out to achieve. We are working on creating our next year’s mailing list, so we appreciate your patience if you receive a few extra emails along the way.

Color Guard post band camp will be Mondays, Thursday, Saturdays. A comprehensive fall schedule will be posted soon.

GILLETTE:

FACT – GILLETTE has been taken away from us in the past so it can happen again. If we continue to not get enough volunteers to safely run our stand we will have no choice but to stop working events. The Gillette fundraiser is there to give your students the experience of a high-class competitive season (both fall & winter), as well as new equipment, concert competition (MICCA & SEMSBA), travel, and our year-end banquet.
Please take a look at this Gillette Info Sheet which will help outline just how the money raised from Gillette helps. If our overall profit from Gillette continues to decrease the money to pay for items will be placed back onto the families OR those things will simply no longer happen.
It only takes each family to sign up for 2 or 3 events to help share the work so the same families aren’t doing it over and over.
We need more ServSafe volunteers. It’s a day long course with a test at the end that teaches you kitchen/food safety. When you pass your certification it is good for 5 years. Right now we only have a handful of servsafe people and really could use some more.
Consider becoming a stand manager so that Guy & Katherine don’t have to bear the burden alone. If you are interested, please reach out to gillette2@mansfieldbandparents.org and they can give you the run down of responsibility.

JULY 4th CAN DRIVE – More Info to Follow

For now – we are asking that you stock pile all your cans and bottles between now and the July 4th weekend. Please save original containers for the bottles as those need to be returned in them; any type of bag or box is ok for the cans
Our plan is to hold a drive in the MHS bus loop where you can drop off all your cans/bottles shortly after the July 4th weekend. We will then count and bring them to the redemption center. If you are unable to come on the dates for drop off we can arrange a pick up from your home.
This is not limited to band families – so tell your friends and neighbors

JULY 9th – FAMILY FUN NIGHT

We will have a table at Family Fun Night. This year it is being held on July 9th,
For sale will be our magnets, stickers & lanyards. Perhaps a few other items too….

Next MBPA Parent Meeting is on Monday, August 12th @ 8:00pm after the first night of band camp. This meeting is important, please make every effort to attend.
