APRIL 2024 UPDATES

QMS Upcoming Events:

Congratulations to the band for bringing home a Silver Metal at MICCA
QMS Band is currently running their Krispy Kreme Fundraiser. Students received their order forms, directions, and a return envelope last week. ALL ORDERS ARE DUE ON THURSDAY, MAY 9th. Late orders cannot be accepted.
- Order will be picked up on Thursday, May 23rd between 4:00pm & 6:00pm in the QMS bus loop. Please plan on picking up your entire order for distribution.
May 30th – Band/Orchestra concert @ QMS beginning at 6:30pm
June 4th – Chorus/Jazz Band concert @ QMS beginning @ 6:30pm

MHS Upcoming Events:

Our performing arts group will be leaving for Disney on Tuesday 4/16 and will march in the Main Street Parade in Magic Kingdom on Friday 4/19 @ 2:20pm. If you’re in the area please come cheer us on!
May 2nd Band Parent Meeting with the presentation of the slate for next year’s board.
May 16th is our Spring Concert beginning @ 6:30pm in the MHS Auditorium
May 27th – Memorial Day Parade
June 2nd – Graduation; call time is 11:00am at Xfinity Center
June 12th will be our year-end banquet for ALL band & color guard. Google form to be sent out soon for RSVP.
- Please note that your account does need to be in good standing to attend the banquet. If you are unsure or have questions, please feel free to email treasurer@mansfieldbandparents.org.
- RSVP & Payment are REQUIRED to attend the banquet. We cannot accept payment at the door given the expected number of attendees. If you do not RSVP via the google form you will not be in the count.

General Updates:

At our May 2nd meeting we will be presenting the board slate for the 24/25 school year. President, VP, and Secretary positions are a one year term while Treasurer is a two year term. Descriptions of each position can be found HERE in our by-laws.
- If you are interested in running for a specific position, please email president@mansfieldbandparents with your position of interest no later than Wednesday, May 1st so your name can be entered on the ballot.
- Voting for the board will take place during our June meeting.

Gillette:

Our new season with Gillette officially starts on April 20th with Monster Jam. A large number of us will still be on the Disney trip so we are asking for your help. This is a low pressure event and no experience is necessary. We still need 7 volunteers and preferably another ServSafe person to run the kitchen, Please consider signing up (and soon) so we don’t need to decline this event.
Reminder that the Gillette fundraiser is how we are able to provide funds for competitions, trips like MetLife and Dayton, dinner during band camp, and lunch when traveling or during rehearse-a-thon to name a few. A reduction in the fundraiser is a reduction in what we can provide and that means they either go away or the costs are put back on the family.
- To that end – due to the number of events we had to back out of this year, we are unable to pay for every student at the banquet this year. Only seniors will have their ticket paid for.
