MONTHLY UPDATE

2/21/2024

QMS BAND UPDATES:

  • Performances
    • March 10th: Percussion Ensemble:
      • Percussion and guard groups will perform for the Mansfield Community at our Home Showcase. Show time will be sent out soon. Tickets are $5 each or $15 family max. Concessions & Raffles will be sold.
    • March 20th 6:30pm: ALL BAND Concert
      • This concert will showcase the groups from JJ through HS and will be held at the High School. Performance starts at 6:30. Students will need to wear concert black. All families and friends are encouraged to attend!

MHS BAND UPDATES:

  • February 24 – Trumbull CT Percussion Show
    • Performance held at Trumbull HS; 72 Strobel Rd, Trumbull, CT
      • Percussion prelims @ 9:45am
      • Percussion finals between 5:15pm & 6:30pm
  • March 2 – Dartmouth; Winter Guard / Percussion Show
    • Performance held at HS; 555 Bakerville Road, Dartmouth
      • Mini perform @ 2:39pm
      • Varsity perform @ 4:30pm
      • Percussion perform @ 8:43pm
  • March 10th: Percussion / Guard Home Showcase:
    • Percussion and guard groups will perform for the Mansfield Community. The show will take place at the HS gym and show time will be sent out soon. Tickets are $5 each or $15 family max. Concessions & Raffles will be sold.
  • March 16 – Cranston, RI; Winter Guard / Percussion Show
    • Performance held at Cranston East HS; 899 Park Ave, Cranston RI
      • Varsity perform @ 4:02pm
      • Percussion perform @ 7:55pm
  • Care for Percussion Uniforms
    • Please wash percussion uniforms inside out, in cold water, and on gentle cycle. Hang to dry. Please do NOT put it in the dryer. Uniforms should be kept in garment bag. You can use the marching band bag, one of your own, or if you’d like an additional one please send a message to president@mansfieldbandparents.org. New bags are $5/each.

DISNEY:

  • Final Disney payment information will be coming out soon
  • Disney Buttons:
    • Going to Disney and want to show your support? Not going, but would like a memento of the trip? Well here’s your chance. We have created Mansfield High School “I’m With The Band” buttons.
    • If you’d like to purchase buttons – please use this form DISNEY BUTTONS

FUNDRAISING:

We have a few fundraising efforts underway. Please make note of the dates:

  • COIN COLLECTION: Fill up the coin container given by Mr. DeJoy or one of your own (including a zip lock bag) and return to the band room on Thursday, February 29th between 5:30pm and 6:15pm. There is some friendly competition that your students have the details on between sections & grade levels.
  • Krispy Kreme: Our Winter programs (percussion & guard) received their KK packet prior to the break. Please return the completed order form with cash or check (payable to MBPA) to the band room on Thursday, February 29th between 5:30pm and 6:15pm. Delivery for the donuts will be on Thursday, March 14th. Students are responsible for picking up their orders and delivering them.
  • GILLETTE: A new season of Gillette is upon us. Please stay tuned for the schedule.
  • BOTTLE AND CAN DRIVE: Mansfield Band and Color Guard are now partnering with the Mansfield Redemption Center collecting bottles and cans! Please click here for more information. This is an ongoing program. Thank you for your help!

SAVE THE DATE:

Please save the date Wednesday, June 12th from 6:00pm – 9:00pm for our Band/Guard banquet. This event will celebrate the year’s accomplishments from Concert Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Winter Percussion & Winter Guard. The banquet will be held at Lake Pearl in Wrentham. More information will be sent out as the date gets closer.

UPCOMING MEETINGS: MBPA Meeting March 7th at 6pm
