Monthly Update

January 24, 2024

MHS BAND UPDATES:

• MICCA: Date and location has been set. We will be performing at Foxboro High School at 5:00pm on Friday, April 5th. Please do not schedule anything for anything on this day until after at least 6:30pm. MICCA is a competitive concert band performance that all concert band students must attend.

• Disney Payment: There is another Disney payment due at the end of the month. I will be sending out emails to families today regarding how much they owe.

• Disney Uniforms: If you/your student is attending the Disney trip and does not have a marching band uniform they must be fitted for one. We will have a fitting this Saturday, 1/27 from 2-4pm at MHS. It should only take 20 minutes or so to get fitted. If you can not make it for any reason please let me know.

• Senior Band Pictures: If you/your student is a senior and did not get their picture taken in the fall please come to the school this Saturday, 1/27 @ 2:00pm. Marching band students should wear their uniform. Concert band students should wear concert black. If you can not make it for any reason please let me know.

GILLETTE:

• If you would like to be servsafe, Gillette is offering a class on February 10th. Class runs from 9:00am – 3:00pm. Breakfast & lunch are serve. You listen and learn and then take a test at the end of the day. If you pass you are servsafe for 5 years. Please email gillette no later than Friday 2/3 to sign up.

• We are still looking for kitchen & stand managers. You do need to be servsafe for these slots for each event.

MBPA FUNDRAISING:

• The MBPA is running a coin collection fundraiser. Students can pick up a cup in Mr. DeJoy’s office to collect coins and dollar bills that will be donated to the MBPA. Students are not expected to go canning anywhere and this is not mandatory. If you do choose to collect at a store, please obtain the managers approval prior to collecting. Collection will happen through February and we will let you know when it’s time to return. If you lose, forget to pick up, or run out of space, a large ziplock bag will work just fine.
• The MBPA is also running a corporate sponsorship fundraiser. If you know of any businesses that may want to donate to the band program and gain exposure through advertising let me know and I can send you more information.
• On MONDAY FEBRUARY 5TH 2024 visit Jake N Joes’s
  FOXBORO for lunch, dinner or take-out and let your
  server or phone representative know that you are
  participating in the fundraiser and to FLAG YOUR
  CHECK. You do not need the flyer, but please make sure you mention it and then check your bill to ensure it says FUNDRAISER on it.

UPCOMING MEETINGS: MBPA Meeting:Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, February 1st @ 6:00pm in the choir room.
