| Band Uniform Measurements | |

Attention all 2008-9 MHS marching band students, including eighth graders coming up! All marching band students need to be measured for uniforms on Monday, June 2nd, 6-8pm, in the MHS band room. | Percussion Wins Gold | |
|
The Percussion Ensemble finnished what they started. The won the GOLD MEDAL at the WGI World Championships. With a score of 99.1-.2 (Penalty) for a final score of 98.9. From the WGI website Mansfield (MA) (Gold Medal- 98.9) earned a record high score for the class performing selections from jazz legend Pat Metheny with “Echoes of Metheny”. An outstanding jazz guitar player, who had a tone reminiscent of the famed jazz-fusion master, gave the program an authentic feel. After opening with the up-tempo, blues-influenced “Have You Heard”, the mood grew tender with the hauntingly beautiful “In Her Family”. One of Metheny’s signature pieces, “Minuano”, closed the program as the group masterfully captured the stylistic nuances of the latin music You can check out the recaps HERE Look for photo of the ensemble soon  pictures from Vic Firth |

| Percussion get away Concert | |
|
The 2008 Mansfield High School Percussion Ensemble will be performing a send off concert on Monday 4/14 at 7pm in the high school gymnasium. This group recently won the NESBA New England Scholastic Band Association Finals held in Dartmouth. They will be traveling to Dayton Ohio to compete in the WGI World competition. They are returning to defend their Championship from last April. Come wish them luck and enjoy this unique music experiance. |
